Happy Thursday! I hope you’re doing well this week! Popping in today with the latest round of Three Things for Thursday. Diving in…
1. Organic Mattress Favorites on Sale 💤
If you’ve been thinking about upgrading your sleep setup, now might be the perfect time! This week, I set up our new Naturepedic EOS Classic Organic Mattress – and let me tell you, I’m so happy with it! What makes it unique? Besides the fact that it’s truly non-toxic and organic, it has dual firmness! I get my plush, cozy side while Aaron finally gets the firmer support he loves.
I’m a huge fan of organic mattresses. For the last 5 years, I’ve slept on our Avocado Green Mattress, which I absolutely love. It’s natural, organic, and incredibly high-quality. But since I opted for their plushest version, it just wasn’t firm enough for my husband. That’s why we switched to Naturepedic’s customizable dual-firmness design – so far, it’s been amazing!
One thing I immediately noticed? Virtually no smell. No chemical off-gassing, no overwhelming factory scent. That’s a big deal when it comes to avoiding unnecessary toxins in your home.
If you’ve been considering switching to an organic mattress, this week is the time! Both Avocado and Naturepedic are running their President’s Day sales – a great time to invest in healthier sleep.

2. Ingredient Swap Spotlight: Ditching Store-Bought Salad Dressings for Homemade Vinaigrettes 🥗✨
Let’s talk about salad dressings – one of the sneakiest places where unhealthy ingredients hide. You grab that bottle off the shelf, and the label proudly boasts “Made with Olive Oil!” but when you flip it around, you see a seed oil listed as the main ingredient, with just a small amount of olive oil added for the greenwashing purposes. It’s frustrating. Even when a dressing claims to be healthy, it’s often loaded with cheap, refined oils and added sugars.
While there are some decent options out there, like Primal Kitchen and Bragg’s, it’s important to check the labels to avoid things like refined oils, high fructose corn syrup, and unnecessary additives.
Here’s a simple solution: make your own salad dressing at home! It wasn’t until I started making my own vinaigrettes that I realized how easy (and tasty) it is. No more guessing what’s in it – just real, whole ingredients. This Honey Vinaigrette has become a go-to in our house, and it’s perfect not just for green salads, but for quinoa, pasta, and orzo salads too! Get the recipe HERE.
3. Non-Toxic Cleaner: Why It Matters + An Easy DIY Solution
Switching to natural cleaning products is one of the easiest ways to detox your home. Simple ingredients like vinegar, baking soda, and essential oils can effectively cut through grease, grime, and bacteria – without filling your home with harmful hormone disrupting fumes.
Try This Easy DIY All-Purpose Cleaner:
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 10 drops lemon essential oil (natural degreaser)
- 10 drops tea tree essential oil (antibacterial)
Mix in a glass spray bottle and use on countertops, sinks, and more! (Avoid using vinegar on stone surfaces like granite or marble – swap it for rubbing alcohol instead.)
Small swaps like this add up to a healthier home! Want more simple, effective ways to improve your indoor air? Check out my full guide HERE.
